Apples And Pears With Whole Spices

Ingredients: 

2 medium baking apples unpeeled, and
cubed into 1 pieces
1 medium pear unpeeled, and
cubed into 1 pieces
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup apple juice concentrated
3 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cardamom pods
2 allspice berries

Yield: 

6 Servings

Method: 

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan over high heat.

Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes, until the apples and pears are soft. Add more water if necessary.

This recipe yields 6 servings. Serving size: 1/2 cup.
